Anyone from Pennsylvania can tell me how old these NEWSPAPERS are?

-I have just found among some books a few newspaper clippings, mostly of a column titled:

CARE and FEEDING

The Copy Club...

An example is:

The Copy Club...Competition

" " " ...News Sources

" " " ...Correspondents

The column was written by John E. Tilton and published in Upper Darby, PA

I believe these clippings must be at least from the 1950's--and maybe even much older. I say this because this is what is written on one of them:

"Today we're going to talk about "business news sources: Your real estate dealer is a good source of news. When he sells a house, that's worth newspaper space. If real estate values are rising, he's the first to know it....

"Don't forget your grocer. He meets more people every week and he's often a reservoir of personal information. If there is a meat shortage he's the first to sense it. When citrus fruits first hit your neighborhood, he has the information.

"Insurance men know their way around. Like the grocer he talks with scores of people...."

*************

I just read in one of the clippings that Tilton was the managing editor of the Upper Darby (Pa.) News. It says that "The Publisher's Auxiliary has been granted permission to reprint these letters, believing that other publishers may want to pass similar information on to their own staffs."
