If you're asking 'should we help the millions of diseased, starving people over there' then the answer is yes, but if you're asking 'should we continue to throw away money that rarely, if ever, helps them and doesn't really solve the problem' then the answer is no. There's an old saying that goes well here 'give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. teach him to fish, and he'll eat for a lifetime.' i think that, instead of feeding Africa forever, we should help them solve their problems, help them set up governments, teach them to take care of themselves and then we won't need to feed them. It may take a while, and most likely Americans will complain about it (just as they complain about Iraq) but its the best option--we'd be hypocrites and soulless bastards if we let them die without helping. Just my opinion though.
Many government officials in africa are corrupt. The african people have very little morals in general. (I don't mean african americans, but people in africa). For instance, a pimp came into town with a license plate that had like a 49 or something on it and they threw out all their cars that had a 49 on it because it became a sign of disgrace. They received cars with rainbows on them and it was a huge trend... until they found out rainbows were a sign of homosexuality. Then they threw out all those cars and it became a sign of disgrace.



That country needs far more help than just food, i'm sorry if i offend anyone, but it's very brutal out there. It needs to be fixed from the core, starting with the government. America has its hands tied and something as big as africa would need the whole worlds help. America has its own homeless people, we can't just give every starving person some food just because we feel bad. We have to help them out with long term goals, not short term ones.
It is not possible for us. We should help them for certain region only. Because It is not a developing country. It is an undeveloped country. They have huge problems there. I know it is very sad to say that many of them will have no food. Just you watch the movie "Blood and Diamond". You will know about the conditions in Africa. If all countries in this world would have participated in solving the Africa issue then There may be a chance to feed them.
Everyone should help, if everyone gave $1 (and the rich more than $1), there would be no starving in this world..even if they were unable to grow food due to harsh weather.



I think it is every ones duty to help...no matter what country they are from. It is called being 'human', helping one another.



I am so disgusted from some of these answers and it only reinforces my thoughts that Americans only do something..if there is something for them in return (ie like oil, etc).



You really need to leave your cosy nests and see the world...you know the other countries out there beside the USA.

So many ignorant answers.....Africa is not a country.Their is a problem in east Africa.You shouldn't feed them.You should go there and build the things needed.However the US never goes into any country unless if they have oil they can steal cough Iraq cough Libya cough.
That is a hard question. I feel we should help people in need if we can, but right now we have so many in need right in this country. I think we should do what we can to make these people self sufficient so that they can feed themselves and not just drop food on them.
It is time that Africa stood on its own two feet. Independence means just that. This country has enough problems of it's own and due to low wages and high food and fuel prices it is going to be a case of eat or heat for many people.
what is being given to Afrika in any case would have been thrown out . A good pupose is served by serving and feeding afrika from surplus, reject, discard
It's never-ending isn't it? I would feel more inclined to help if the other African countries helped too. I guess Kenya is letting them into refugee camps but there still isn't food.
I think we're in enough trouble ourselves to be worrying about other countries.
