-We read with immense sorrow the tragic devastation in Norway carried out by rightwing loonies. Are these the same nutters (Norwegian Defence League) that the English Defence League's members spoke at their recent rally ? Are we defending ourselves against the wrong enemy ? Are we going to see the same in our country or are our 'Defence League' safe ?

http://www.dagbladet.no/2011/04/09/nyhet鈥?/a>Lets get things straight, this gut may have been one of the guys who liked the EDL facebook page, and so have loads of people, even Muslims are on the long list of followers.
Another thing he states in his manifesto is him and the EDL are far apart, and stated views were not the same.
He also stated he wanted to start up the NDL but did he ever got close.
The only way he got away with this attack is because he kept his most extremist views to himself.
@Corn
he was a member, and not a supporter, and it was personal stuff between the 2.
He regrets the attack and said their differences should have been dealt with away from the demo.
Well it could be reasonably argued the that blowing-up of the Norwegian parliament square and the indiscriminate killing of innocent teenagers onUt酶ya, is a security factor to be taken into serious consideration. As for being the wrong enemy, I think that one can safely say that on the ultra right wing, society has, more that one enemy.
Extremism is wrong. It is wrong when it is part of the far right, and it is wrong when Islamic extremists misuse religion to oppress others. Just like it is wrong for any extremist to oppress others.
The far right in the UK have been involved in terrorism, just as Catholic extremists have and yes, just as extremist Muslims have as well.
One man went postal, he was a nutter. Define defending ourselves against the wrong enemy. You must have an enemy picked out already or else you wouldn't have mentioned it. Muslims aren't my enemy i just don't trust them, that doesn't mean as i suspect you mean we stop being vigilant against islamics and concentrate our efforts towards the British right wing instead. A nutter is a nutter, there is a big difference between a nutjob and a dissenting voice. I'd trust the EDL long before i'd trust any muslim group.
The person who founded the EDL was in court in Blackburn recently charged for affray at an EDL demo (bizarrely it was for fighting with his own supporters)
As he left the court, local TV showed him and his supporters gathering for a group photograph across the road. They didn't seem the slightest bit embarrassed by the Nazi salutes that many of their supporters gave.
If it acts like a Nazi and looks like a Nazi, the bets are that it is a Nazi.

Keep in mind that in the UK we have already suffered two serious bombings carried out by a far right "lone wolf" who was an ex-member of the BNP:

Other far right members have been convicted of preparing terrorist acts. There does seem to be something about far right political culture that engenders a propensity to violence in susceptible people. Or is it that far right culture attracts people already prone to using violent solutions to problems, political or otherwise?
do you want to control free citizens by using solitary instance and introduce high censorship so that govt actvities are a closed shop
No,the "enemy" have already carried out attacks on us and are threatening more,The EDL have just made the mistake of thinking this is a free country.
Are the SNP the same as the BNP, it works all ways,
Don't just point England out,
You are getting hysterical now - in a left wing kind of way
hey don't knock it countries up and down europe will be examining if there is inbuilt bias against native communities with in government allocation..
wanna know who benefited most from the London underground attacks? asian youth clubs that's who.. wow the equipment those lads got.. pool tables, computers.. skies the limit.
the amber valley in derbyshire voted in loads of BNp councillors, so a report was undertaken to examine quite why that should be with the result that social housing was constructed to breach the gulf between community allocation.
times are hard and peoples attitudes harden with them.
the police have been warning now that right wing terrorism is a real and present danger, lol but that's not a reason for dropping the jahadists off the scope now is it genius.
nutter or not (to use your nice term.. ps counts towards my earlier point as you seem to feel jahdists act rationally unlike the right) at least that guy had the sense to work out if you don't do anything the government are quite happy to let you rot.
This man probably committed these acts because he was mentally deranged, not out of any genuine political conviction.
Much as I loathe the racism and violence of EDL and their supporters, it is wrong to link these groups to the tragic events in Norway. The devastation was not "carried out by rightwing loonies" - it was one man acting alone.
...with the backing of right-wing loonies!
