Question about Norway attacks?

-Can somebody please explain to me who was behind the bombings, who was behind the shooting, were the two events related, and did al qeada have anything to do with any of it. This is not a school question or anything I just would like to better understand the situation.



ThanksA 32-year-old Aryan neo-nazi had it in for Norway's peaceful Left-wing Socialist liberal democracy, with emphasis on equality, spending the oil wealth on a generous welfare scheme, and encouraging cultural diversity, where once to be Norwegian was to be blond and blue-eyed. What really got in his craw was the number of Muslim-looking kids going to summer camp run on a pretty island by the ruling Workers' Party. This summer camp was arranged for 14-19 year olds to party, sing round the camp fire and discuss freedom, democracy and equality.



So he got 6 tonnes of weedkiller, a machine gun and a handgun and lots of ammunition, and first of all blew up the Government buildings in Oslo, then went off to the summer camp dressed as a policeman. He assembled the kids to give them a talk on Law and Order, and then machine gunned them. Those that ran away he chased into the sea, where he then picked them off while they were trying to swim for their lives. Some of them thought he was a police officer come to rescue them. He told them "trust me - you are safe with me" and then shot them. The best chance of survival lay with those who hid in a log cabin in the woods. He might have come back later to burn it down, but the real police turned up and he turned himself in straight away, already pleased with his day's work. So far 85 kids were killed outright, plus another seven in Oslo, although there are many seriously injured and some missing, so the number will probably go up.



I don't think Al Q'aida had anything at all to do with it. The American Tea Party did provide him with his inspiration, and it was his stated intention to create a Norwegian Tea Party and bring it to power, with all its Right wing Christian fundamentalism, and Free market low taxation low welfare policies combined with the racism of the European neo-nazis.



The Norwegian police are trying to find out if he was alone, or whether he was working with others.The suspect is a native-born Norwegian who had no previous police record, who was apparently anti-Muslim and had right wing political leanings but wasn't affiliated with any particular group.

This is a blond-haired, blue-eyed young-ish man (early 30s, I believe).

It looks like Norway now has a "Timothy McVeigh".
Not all terrorists are from Al Quada. Nor are they all Muslims.

According to news reports, it is a home grown terrorist who is anti-islamist and anti-immigrants.
It was a right-wing racist Christian fundamentalist terrorist.
